2025 NFL Draft: Winners and Losers on Day 2

NFL

It’s draft season, which means it’s ECG season. The second day of the 2025 NFL Draft has passed, and we will continue to stream our live reactions to YouTube. Be sure to donate to our St. Jude’s fund, as we seek to raise money for a good cause. With that being said, let’s dive into our winners and losers from Day 2 of the NFL Draft.

Dante’s Winners and Losers:

Winners - Cleveland Browns

The Browns made some big-time moves on Day 2, selecting linebacker Carson Schwesinger out of UCLA at pick 33 and running back Quinshon Judkins from Ohio State at pick 36. The Browns then added two more offensive players in the third round with tight end Harold Fannin Jr. from Bowling Green, who just had an all-time-great season for a tight end, and used the 67th pick to select the pass catcher. Then Cleveland selected quarterback Dillon Gabriel from Oregon with the 94th pick, completing their Day 2 haul. Gabriel is a favorite of Dante’, and the Browns added key contributors with their other three picks yesterday.

Losers - Pittsburgh Steelers

Yes, that’s right. The Steelers are once again losers in Dante’s eyes. The Steelers’ only draft choice was Iowa running back Kaleb Johnson at pick 83 in the third round. After Dante’s evaluations and film studies of Johnson, this pick is still too early for the speedy running back, and with the Steelers not having another pick to redeem themselves, Pittsburgh ends up as a loser for the second day in a row.

Kelii’s Winners and Losers:

Winners - Dallas Cowboys

As a die-hard Eagles fan who also grew up in Austin, Texas, it pains me to say the Cowboys had a great second day at the NFL Draft. Dallas took edge rusher Donovan Ezeiruaku at pick 44 out of Boston College and corner back Shavon Revel out of East Carolina with the 76th pick. I had Ezeiruaku penned in as a late first round pick (to Philadelphia no less) and Revel as my No. 2 CB in the class, who fell due to injury concerns. Two incredibly good, value picks for the Cowboys, who are frustrating me with how well they are drafting.

Losers - Green Bay Packers

The hosts of the NFL Draft took tackle Anthony Belton out of NC State at pick 54, which was solid but then drafted another receiver after selecting Matthew Golden out of Texas in the first round. Savion Williams from TCU was the selection at No. 87, which was a head scratching move considering how deep the receiver room is and Jayden Reed being an established gadget guy. My evaluation of Williams also says this was a reach and I believe he is surplus to requirements.

Don’s Winners and Losers:

Winners - Cleveland Browns

Like Dante’, Don has the Browns as a big winner on Day 2. With four players entering the mix as either starters or rotational contributors from the get-go, Cleveland have set themselves up well to win moving forward. Only time will tell if the Browns can figure out their quarterback situation. Harold Fannin Jr. learning from David Njoku will help his development and Quinshon Judkins will look to step in for a departing Nick Chubb.

Losers - Jacksonville Jaguars

After taking Travis Hunter on Day 1, the Jaguars struggled this time around, with the selections of Tulane corner back Caleb Ransaw and West Virginia offensive lineman Wyatt Milum on Day 2. Neither were great value picks, with higher caliber players still available in safety Xavier Watts (now a Falcon) and wide receiver Tai Felton (now a Viking) still available.

Sora’s Winners and Losers:

Winners - Seattle Seahawks

The Seahawks had a slew of picks on Day 2, taking South Carolina safety Nick Emmanwori at 35, Miami tight end Elijah Arroyo at 50 and Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe at 82. Emmanwori is a first round talent and Arroyo is one of the top tight ends in the class and Milroe will be able to sit and learn behind Sam Darnold. This group is going to be able to help Seattle in both the here and now along with the future.

Losers - Green Bay Packers

Ultimately the Savion Williams selection was one of the most baffling picks of the day, especially after taking Golden in the first round. With Jayden Reed, Romeo Doubs, Christian Watson and Dontayvion Wicks already in the fold, the Packers seemingly wasted a pick on a player none of us are entirely high on to begin with. While Golden was an excellent choice, Williams
